Family Friendly Parks and Trails

Sarah Grady Ackerman talks with Chuck Goodheart from City of Tallahassee Parks and Recreation about a way to get your family outside and moving. There are several parks and trails in the area that moms may not be aware of that are family friendly. One such park is the Eleanor Phipps Park off of Meridian Road which consists of ten miles of multi-use trails where families can ride on the trails with their bikes or they can walk. Tom Brown Park is another park that has a paved trail, try-cycle trail where little kids can learn to ride, and mountain bike trails with different skill levels. Mom may want ride the scary downhill, and Dad can take the kids on the easy trail. The try-cycle trail is a little gravel trail with little mounds and rocks that extends down into the woods. It also has wooden boardwalks that kids tend to like. It’s a great way to introduce your kids to the parks and trails, and Mom and Dad can sit and watch them.
