About Us

The March of Dimes mission is to improve the health of babies by preventing birth defects.

Prematurity Campaign 2013

More than 1 million babies around the world die every year due to preterm birth.

That's why the March of Dimes continues to support research to find the causes of preterm birth and birth defects and develop ways to prevent them. It's why we're educating moms about how they can reduce their risk and get the services they need to have a healthy baby.

We need your help to raise the public's awareness of these issues and bring more babies home healthy. In addition to our lead PSA with Celine Dion, we have included a number of different spots to appeal to your various audiences.

Healthy Babies are Worth the Wait

Recent research has shown that important development of an infant's brain and lungs occurs during the last few weeks of pregnancy. Babies born just a few weeks early have higher rates of hospitalization and illness compared to full-term infants.

Through our "Healthy Babies are Worth the Wait" public awareness campaign, the March of Dimes is educating women that, if their pregnancy is healthy, it is best to wait for labor to begin on its own, rather than scheduling an induction of labor or a cesarean section. This new advertising campaign is endorsed and co-branded with the U.S. Department of Health and Human Services and the American College of Obstetricians and Gynecologists. We need your help to raise the public's awareness of this issue and help bring more babies home healthy.

This Campaign is evergreen and you can begin using any of the PSAs immediately.

Thank you for your help and support as we work together for stronger, healthier babies.

March for Babies, 2013

More than 4 million babies were born last year, and the March of Dimes helped each and every one through 75 years of research, education, vaccines and breakthroughs. But sadly, nearly 1500 babies will be born too soon and too small today. Many will have lifelong health problems. That's why the March of Dimes continues to fund life-saving research and programs that help more moms have full-term pregnancies and healthy babies.

Please support us by encouraging your audience to join the thousands of people who participate in March for Babies in your community. You can begin using these spots immediately. And thank you for your help and support.
