About Us

Our spas were custom designed to allow the most comfortable and relaxed experience possible.

Float therapy is a luxurious escape from life’s daily stress and is a natural way to heal the body and mind. The concept is similar to the mineral salt baths at the Dead Sea in Israel. Eight hundred pounds of Epsom salt are dissolved into a shallow pool of temperate water. This peaceful space frees you not only from gravity, but also noise and other surrounding distractions as the spas are both light and soundproof.

Similar to deep meditation, your body and mind achieve calmness, entering into a theta brain wave state. When combined with a zero-gravity environment, floatation allows your body and mind to enter a deep and profound state of relaxation – unlike any other experience.

Our spa provides you a private floatation suite. We have three suites available on site and each includes a private shower and dressing area. These spas were custom designed for extreme luxury yet convenience.

Today, many individuals from busy moms to injured patients to professional athletes alike are turning to floatation therapy. This therapy stimulates the body’s natural power of healing and regeneration.

View the Conditions Treated tab on this page to learn about some health conditions that have been known to benefit from floatation therapy.

We break down the benefits of floatation therapy into three areas:

  • Epsom Salt Benefits
  • Zero-Gravity Benefits
  • Sensory Deprivation Benefits

Omaha Float Spa FAQ

What happens if I fall asleep while floating?
Some clients are so relaxed by their floats that they drift into a peaceful sleep. This is fine. If you do flip over, there’s over 850 lbs of Epsom salt in the water and you would get it in your eyes, nose and mouth. That would definitely wake you up. The music that signals the end of your float gradually increases in volume and is loud enough to wake up most clients who have fallen asleep. Even while wearing ear plugs and being underwater you will hear the music. If you don’t wake up after a little while, we can turn on the filter pumps and that will definitely get you up.

What are the differences in your float tanks?
There are some small aesthetic differences in the tanks, but once you’re in, the experience is all the same (dark, quiet, warm & floaty).

Can I float while on my period?
Sure, just bring the proper feminine product as if you were swimming.

Can I float with another person in the float tank/pod?
We allow only single person floats, but have 3 float cabins/tank, so if you want to float with a group, give us a call and we’ll take care of you.

What will a float session do to my hair coloring?
We suggest that you wait at least 48-hours after you color your hair. The salt can diminish your hair color if it was done recently. It can also do a number on our float cabin/tank.

I suffer from high levels of stress and pain, will this help?
ABSOLUTELY. We see people find relief from pain and stress everyday. There are volumes of research supporting floatation therapy as an effective treatment for ailments like: chronic stress, fibromyalgia, chronic pain, MS, anxiety, severe back pain, insomnia and much more.

What do I need to bring?
Nothing is necessary. Since you float in the nude, there’s no need for a swim suit. We provide earplugs, towels, soap, shampoo, as well as a hair dryer. You may want to bring a contact case, hair brush or comb.

What if I am claustrophobic?
This is the most common fear for first-time floaters. It’s totally normal. The feeling of floating is so freeing and relaxing that the apprehension of tight spaces goes away very quickly. Don’t worry, there are no locks on the float cabin or tank and if you feel like you’re having a tough time, you can get out right away, no questions asked. If you want to float with the light on, or with music, that’s okay too, it’s your call.

How long is the float session?
Your float is 1-hour long, but you should aim to arrive around 10-15 minutes beforehand so you can park, arrive, check in and shower before your float.

How is the water cleaned?
The incredibly high salt content of the water prevents bacteria and other micro-organisms from surviving within the tank. In addition, we filter the water thoroughly, zap it with antimicrobial ultraviolet light, and use an odorless and safe disinfectant at an optimal level for sanitation. This is more than what’s done for any hot tub or swimming pool. As result, the water is very clean. We also ask that clients use the showers in the float rooms before and after their sessions. Body wash/shampoo/conditioner are provided in the showers.

Do I need to do anything to prepare?
Refrain from drinking caffeine for a few hours before your float (caffeine is a stimulant, and can make you jittery during your session). If you can plan for it, don’t shave or wax before your float – the salt water can irritate your skin. Eating something light 90 minutes is a good idea, since a grumbly tummy can be distracting during your float.

How long have people been floating?
Dr. John C. Lilly created the first Sensory Deprivation Tanks in late 1950’s. Athletes, Meditators and others have been floating widely since the 1960’s.

Floating relieves the constant pressure of gravity on joints and muscles and the body is able to achieve a higher state of physical relaxation.  IN ONLY ONE HOUR - Floatation therapy is equivalent to approximately four hours of restorative sleep, and has detoxification results similar to that of a three-day fast!

Floating enhances muscle recovery and gives athletes a greater control over their nervous system, reducing the risk of injury during training or competition.  A RESET FOR YOUR BODY - Floatation accelerates the recovery process while also releasing vast quantities of endorphins, the body’s natural painkiller, which resets the body’s chemical and metabolic balance.

Magnesium helps to regulate the activity of over 300 enzymes in the body and EACH cell of the human body requires magnesium to function.  A NATURAL PROCESS - Physicians recommend that Epsom Salt baths are a safe, easy, and natural way to increase the body’s levels of magnesium and sulfate. Sulfates helps to flush toxins and aids in forming proteins in joints and brain tissue.
