Put It On!

It's time to put some muscle in your fight against the calendar. That lean body mass slips away as the years slide by. Go get it back!

The key is strength training. You need to help your body recover the muscle that makes a run for it as you age.

Black Clover Fitness owner Corey Cain says, "The average American loses about seven to 12 pounds of muscle per decade. So, average, that's about a pound a year. That pound of muscle lost, actually adds on about five pounds of fat each year."

Corey says that's like down-sizing the engine in your car.

This doesn't mean you're going to wind up looking like you lift refrigerators in your spare time.

"You know, there's a lot of myths out there," Corey said. "And, obviously, for many men and women, you're not going to look like that. The objective is to help build muscle and then boost the metabolism at the same time."

That metabolism is what burns calories and that burns the fat.
