Don't Get Your Butt in a Rut

Throw your muscles a few curves and they'll toss a few back to you. Muscle confusion will keep your workout and your body from getting stuck in a rut.

You might recognize the problem. If you've been working out for a while and suddenly notice that you're not getting the kind of results you did at first, it's time to mix it up. That's where muscle confusion comes in.

Corey Cain, with Black Clover Fitness tells us, "Really what it is, is changing the environment for your body so that we're continually moving forward as far as our muscle growth and our cardio-vascular growth goes."

This can apply to both strength training and cardio.

Corey says, "What we can do is change the duration, change the intensity and change the frequency and then, what we're going to see is success because we changed the environment."
