Do you have what it takes to make a big difference in a child's life? If you think your family might offer a good environment for a foster child, now's the time to step up.
Ashley Brown, the program director for KVC Behavioral HealthCare says there's a great need for foster families.
She says, "We are the largest foster care provider in the state of Nebraska but we still have a tremendous need for more foster parents and more foster families - a particular need for families that are willing to care for teenagers or a special needs population."
Those special needs can range from medical needs to developmental disabilities.
To become a foster parent you need to be at least 21-years-old and you need to complete an eight-week training course. KVC provides that training for free. You need to complete a home study which is a thorough family assessment and there's a criminal history background check.
