Northern Illinois Medical Group FAQ
Q: What is integrative functional medicine?
A: Integrative functional medicine combines natural medicine and allopathic traditional medicine to improve the function of the body, not just treatment of symptoms. It looks at all body systems and identifies the malfunctioning system, then works to restore balance instead of putting a band-aid on the symptom(s).
Q: What insurances are accepted?
A: We are in network with and accept most insurance including Medicare, however individual coverage is going to be up to what your individual plan has approved. Our insurance department verifies specific coverage of services by checking with your insurance company. We also offer discounted payment package options.
Q: Does acupuncture hurt?
A: Acupuncture methods include needles, without needles, and use of pellets depending on the nature of the treatment. Pain with needles depends on the individual. Some people experience a slight poking sensation, others experience nothing. If needles are something that is of concern, our acupuncturists have other methods of pain relief that give the same benefits as acupuncture with needles.
Q: Does chronic pain have to control my life?
A: No. Chronic pain occurs in patients of all ages and manifests itself in a variety of forms. Whether you’ve been to specialists or multiple doctors and still have not found relief, we are offering you a chance to resolve chronic pain issues. Each patient is unique so we run very comprehensive tests to isolate the source(s) of the chronic pain and then work with the patient on a prescribed treatment planned designed specifically to their situation. If you’ve tried everything and are still in pain, now is the time to try once more – give us a 4 week trial and start experiencing improvement.
