Individual Services
The Center for Marriage and Family Counseling provides professional, skilled and therapeutic services to children, adolescents and adults experiencing difficult life circumstances that negatively impact their mental health. Counseling services provided by the Center have the potential to provide the individual with knowledge, skills, and abilities that improve their life skills to develop strong family and/or marital relationships and to provide a safe and healthy environment for their children to grow and develop. Services promote equal access to stellar mental health services to low income, uninsured, and underinsured community members unable to receive these services from other mental health care providers. These services are provided on a sliding scale basis.
Couples/Marital Services
Center for Marriage and Family Counseling provides a safe environment for couples to explore and address conflict in their relationship, as well as enrich their current relationship. Our counselors acknowledge the strengths in a relationship and build upon them to help the couple work through growth areas of their relationship.
Family Services
The Center for Marriage and Family Counseling is committed to serving individuals in the context of their relationships with important people in their lives. We encourage individuals to include closest relatives in their counseling process.
Family services include supervised visitation, which is a program that encourages parents and their children to preserve their relationship when other factors may prevent them from visiting with one another under more “natural” circumstances. There may be times when separated or divorced parents are in conflict and have difficulty communicating effectively with one another. It may be necessary for parents to negotiate a custody/visitation arrangement with the help of attorneys or mediation.
The supervised visitation program is designed to provide a safe environment for parents and children to visit and continue building a positive parent/child relationship.
Employer Services
An Employee Assistance Program (EAP) is a benefit provided by an employer to address personal, family, job related, and substance abuse problems that may affect job performance. This benefit is provided in addition to health insurance and other benefits.
Employees are a company’s most valuable resource. Research shows that a healthy employee is a more productive employee.
Everyone experiences personal, family, emotional or other types of difficulties at some point in their lives. When our problems become unmanageable, we may need to turn to others for help. The EAP provides free, confidential counseling to the employee and family members.
An EAP provides employees and family members with counseling services for:
Complete confidentiality is assured to workers who call EAP on their own. Services are free to the employee and their eligible family members. Services are provided in a comfortable, and confidential atmosphere.
Group Services
Center for Marriage and Family Counseling offers psychoeducational and therapeutic groups on adult and adolescent anger management, and substance abuse. Research shows that education and support offered in a group setting greatly improves an individual’s understanding of their behaviors towards others. Confidentiality and respect are main components of the group atmosphere.
