Recipe & Rhyme Berry Parfait

Caroline Hepfler

As a mom, I’m always reminding my kids to wash their hands. This fun little rhyme helps to get my kids scrubbing! Once everybody is clean, why not make a fun, sweet, berry recipe too! Lets get started!

Wash Your Hands
Germs are icky and can be tricky,
Because they can’t be seen.
So wash your hands and wash them good,
To make sure they are CLEAN!

Ok, now that we are clean… lets cook!

Berry Parfait Recipe
You will need:
1 package instant vanilla pudding
1 can pie filling (any kind…cherry, blueberry, etc…)
1 cup sour cream
1 cup milk
1 package graham crackers
Whipped cream or cool-whip

Steps to follow:
In a medium bowl add 1 package instant vanilla pudding, 1 cup of milk and sour cream. Blend for about 2 minutes with a wire whisk or beaters. Chill the pudding mixture for a couple hours so it stiffens up a bit. In a large bowl (a clear bowl looks best), add a bottom layer of crushed graham crackers. Add alternate layers of the pudding and then the pie filling until bowl is full. Top with whipped cream and a light sprinkle of crushed graham crackers. Serve chilled.

Now it’s time to get with the rhythm again! When reading this rhyme, find a beat. Clap your hands or even stomp your feet!

Berry Fairy Rhyme
“Berry, berry,” said the fairy, “I’ll grant you one wish today.”
Then I wish for love and peace and hope and joy and everything nice if I may.
