DIY: Tinted Moisturizer

Pretty Smart Girl

With so many tinted moisturizers on the market, why would I create my own? For starters, I have tried so many from Laura Mercier to Physician's Formula and everything in between but nothing seems to be the ONE. Also, I don't like fragrance, nor does my skin. Ditto on SPF. Making my own took about 4 seconds and during the process, I used my favorite face lotion and my favorite mineral makeup and... Viola! I have a customized tinted moisturizer with ingredients I already own.

For the lotion, I used Weleda Almond Soothing Facial Lotion, even though a few weeks ago I swore I never use anything except their Skin Food. I should always preface these absolute statements that I make with "this week" or "right now" because I often change my mind and my preference.

As for the mineral make-up, I used a beloved product that I have enjoyed for a long, long time. Aveda's Inner Light Mineral Dual Foundation. It is wonderful on the skin.

Instructions: Mix lotion and mineral makeup until desired consistency is reached. (Tiny adorable mixing tool is not needed, you can use a spoon instead.)

The lotion I chose glides onto my skin and feels cool. I just love the feeling.
