The Art of the Handwritten Note

This article, entitled "The Art of the Handwritten Note," comes from Liz Hayes, MomsEveryday correspondent from Central Wisconsin.

It feels great when we receive a thoughtfully written note or card in the mail -- not the email variety.

You should always send a handwritten note when you receive a gift for a wedding or a shower and anytime you are sent a gift in the mail for any occasion.

You don't need to include a lot of information. Simply say thank you, tell the person how you will use the gift and add another small pleasantry to keep the custom alive.

If you received a present in person and thanked the giver, you're set.

But sometimes an email thank you is okay, such as if a friend took you out to a movie or your boss praised you in a meeting.
