This article, entitled "Are You and Your Kids Overscheduled?" comes from Pat Persaud, MomsEveryday correspondent from Omaha, NE.
Ready, set go! Be honest, isn’t that how most of our days begin? We’ve become conditioned to expect the busyness as part of life. After all, who wants to deny their kids the opportunity to score the most points, play a musical instrument and get the best grades. If that sounds like you, the experts of child behavior say it’s time to re-evaluate.
Are you doing this for your child or for you? Are you involved in these activities because other moms are or because your child really wants to be involved in these activities? Are you constantly rushing but never making it anywhere on time because you’re so overscheduled?
No one is suggesting that you should refuse to shuttle your kids back and forth to their favorite activity, but experts suggest maybe choosing one activity per season. The good news in this: there’s no reason not to let your kids enjoy non-scheduled time with you and your family.
