About Us

Education Focused on You!

Our Mission

“Personalizing education for all students through our curriculum and work-based learning.”

With our curriculum, we personalize each student’s education by finding out what interests them and making that a part of what they learn about.

Also, we emphasize students getting real experiences with career-based experiences so that they better understand their interests and how they will change the world after they are finished with high school.

  • Graduate in any month — Finish any month!  You don’t have to wait until June to graduate once your requirements are met!
  • Flexible learning options – Your learning program and curriculum is adapted to fit your needs. Learn at the right pace for you, at the time and place that you choose!

How It Works

Students, families, and staff at Mountain View Virtual High School are supported by a robust technology system designed to be easy to use, to clearly track and report learning progress, and to make the educational experience unique and enjoyable.

The Qino Portal is a personal home page where each student can quickly and easily access all of their core content courses in one location, including all of their unit plans, academic progress and feedback from their teachers.

Google Apps
All of our students will receive a Google account allowing students the full range of tools, from Google Docs, Google Sheets, Google Sites, and Google Hangouts. All of these tools will be used by each student during the course of study of each unit in each subject area.

Fuel Education
We use this platform for all of our electives.  There are a wide variety of courses that students can take in areas that interest them.  We want students to be interested in their learning as this is something that motivates them!

We are offering courses in Fine Art, Music Appreciation, Spanish, Driver Education, and our 4 Career pathways:  Manufacturing, Business Management and Administration, Information Technology, and Health Science.

Testing and Academic Progress
At Mountain View Virtual, each student, teacher and parent can quickly and easily know a student’s academic progress in any course at any time by accessing the Qino Portal or the Fuel Education Portal.

Our Academics

Fontan Relational Education (FRE)

At our online high school we pride ourselves on offering top-quality curriculum and instruction to our students. The foundation of our approach is called Fontan Relational Education (FRE). This learning methodology has several decades of proven excellence, and is expanding in countries around the world. In fact, one school in Colombia, South America, Colegio Fontan Capital, was given the 2011 Microsoft Innovation Award for it’s use of this system.
Our curriculum is uniquely designed to:

  • Increase Student Engagement. Learning becomes more interesting as students relate learning to their own lives.
  • Personalize Learning. Students are a part of the process to help create their own individualized learning plan.
  • Produce Independent Learners. There are 5 levels of autonomy, and students learn the skills to work independently.
  • Ensure Students Graduate. Students learn how to create daily, weekly, and monthly learning goals.
  • Align With Colorado State Standards. All of our Units of Study align with the state standards.
