House Works: Pork Burgers

Many parents struggle with trying to get kids to eat their vegetables. In this House Works, Chef Judy Gilliard shows us a great grilling recipe that involves pork. These little burgers are so yummy, your little ones won't even notice those hidden veggies.

Baby Pork Burgers

Servings: 12

1 pound ground pork
1 teaspoon ground black pepper
1 teaspoon salt
1 medium zucchini, chopped fine
1 medium carrot, chopped fine
3 tablespoons ketchup
2 tablespoons mayonnaise
12 each whole wheat dinner roll
12 each dill pickle slices

Gently mix together ground pork, seasonings, zucchini and carrot. Shape into 12 burgers about 1/2 -inch in thickness. Place over moderately hot coals in a kettle-style grill, lower hood and grill for 5 minutes; turn and finish grilling 4-5 minutes more.

Mix ketchup and mayonnaise together, spread on the dinner rolls, top with burger and a pickle.
