Message of Support Goes Viral

While some women find the transition into motherhood easy, for many, there are many challenges. And a little support goes a long way, no matter how you’re experiencing motherhood. Blogger Stephanie Sprenger recently wrote a blog entitled “I’m Glad They Told Me,” which encourages moms to speak their truth about becoming a mom.

She has been receiving overwhelming support for her article, which has become a viral social media campaign.

“It’s been very affirming and I think the best part is Moms coming out of the woodwork to say, ‘this was my experience, I didn’t get to talk about it, I felt inadequate, I felt angry and ripped off.’ To finally have them be able to speak their truth I think it’s really healing for women to come together and say 'this was really hard for me,' or some days 'I don’t like this' or 'I am really terrible at this.' That kind of support has been the most positive part of this for me,” Stephanie said.

Stephanie is encouraging all moms to participate in a social media blitz today… inviting moms to share their photos on social media and change their profile pictures to help raise awareness. Use the hashtag “So Glad They Told Me,” and speak your truth.
