Slap Chop may sound like a cool new karate move, but it’s actually a device that could help you slice and dice your favorite fruits and vegetables.
The As Seen On TV test starts with a tomato. The more you depress the Slap Chop, the more pieces you should get from the chopped fruit or vegetable. The Slap Chop did slice the tomato but it didn’t go all the way through. We turned the tomato over and tried again, which resulted in tomato juice all over the counter and a tomato that was not sliced to expectations.
Next we tried an onion, which did an okay job once we separated the layers but there were several larger pieces left behind.
So, if you don’t mind chopping fruits and vegetables manually ahead of time, the Slap Chop works. But if you want the gadget to do the whole job for you, it’s probably not the kitchen tool for you.
