Meet Our Staff...
Lon Egbert, PT, ATC
Lon was involved in many sports in HS. His family was that of wrestlers including 3 of them being state champions, including Lon. He went off to college wanting to be around sports and helping local athletes achieve the success that others helped him to achieve while in our community. He graduated from Brigham Young University with a Bachelor in Sports Medicine/ Athletic Training. He then went on to Graduate school to A.T.Still University for his Masters of Science in Physical Therapy. After many years he went back for his Doctorate of Physical Therapy from EIM School of Health Sciences in Kentucky. He has had many opportunities to give back to the athletic community including being selected at an Athletic Trainer/Physical Therapist for the Senior World Games, 2001 Winter Sports World Cup, 2001 Winter Olympic Trials, 2002 Winter Olympics, 2006 internship at the Colorado Springs Olympic Training Center, and 2008 Track & Field Olympic Trials in Eugene, Oregon at Hayward Field. He continues to volunteer many hours for all the high schools in Jerome, Lincoln and Gooding Counties for concussion education, baseline testing, return to sport clearance and athletic training services. He has earned a reputation around the Magic Valley of being tough but caring to help you get back to doing what you love and enjoy. When he is not volunteering his time at the schools and recreation departments with coaching, he, his wife and 6 children go whitewater rafting and off to family reunions.
Clinton Axman, PT, DPT-Physical Therapist
Clinton grew up in Western Washington and Eastern Idaho. He attended Brigham Young University of Idaho and received a Bachelor’s of Science in 2007. He continued his Education at A.T. Still University in Mesa, AZ and obtained his Doctorate in Physical Therapy. At Jerome Physical Therapy and Sports Medicine has allowed him to work in a variety of settings including outpatient orthopedics, acute care, and home health. Clint has a special interest in manual therapy and would like to specialize in that area. In his free time he enjoys spending time with his wife and four children, kayaking, golfing, hiking, and playing sports.
Tyson Carter, PT, DPT
Tyson grew up in Fairview Utah. After a tour in Iraq with the Utah National guard he attended Utah State University where he received his B.S. in human movement science with a minor in business management. He moved to Washington where he earned his Doctor of Physical Therapy from Eastern Washington University. His clinical background includes the treatment of orthopedic injuries and rehabilitation. His treatment approach is integrated manual therapy which uses hands on techniques to help relieve pain and exercises to help lock in the improvement. He is passionate about physical therapy for its ability to help people get back to the things that they love. He believes in personalized physical therapy that empowers patient to take control of and manage their own condition. Areas of interest/ proficiency include: shoulder rehabilitation, cervical disorders and post-surgical rehabilitation. Tyson enjoys spending time with his wife and 2 daughters, hiking, camping, fly fishing, hunting, disc golf and cycling.
Jaron Pope, DPT
Jaron grew up on the Wasatch front in Utah and earned his B.S. from Brigham Young University in 2012 in Exercise Science and Spanish. He graduated from the University of Utah in 2015 with his Doctorate of Physical Therapy. His clinical background includes orthopedic, post-surgical, and neurological rehabilitation as well as home health therapy. Jaron focuses on hands-on manual therapy as well as therapeutic exercise to help his patients reach their goals. Jaron loves physical therapy because he loves meeting new people, getting to know their unique stories, and helping them get back to doing what they love. He believes that building sincere friendships and having fun is what PT is all about. Jaron is also a certified Mastery Level Spanish speaker.
Jaron and his wife always wanted to move to a smaller town where they could be more involved in the community and have ample space for their animals and hobbies. The Magic Valley was the perfect fit! Jaron enjoys hunting, fishing, sports, woodwork, horses, and spending time with his family in the mountains.
Carla Southwick, ATC
While growing up as a high school athlete in Eastern Idaho, Carla learned what an Athletic Trainer’s job encompasses. At that time she gained a desire to become a Certified Athletic Trainer. She graduated from Brigham Young University’s Athletic Training program. Carla then continued her education at Utah State University. While attending USU she worked as a Certified Athletic Trainer for their athletic programs. She graduated from USU with a Master of Science in Exercise Science. She enjoys being around athletics and doing what she loves most, helping others. While not on the side lines she loves to spend time with her three kids and husband. They like to ride bikes, hike, go on walks, build things, and anything that gets them outdoors.
Kelly Mills, Billing Manager
Kelly was born and raised in the Magic Valley and have lived in Jerome for the past 17 years. She has worked in the Physical Therapy field as an office assistant and now as a billing manager for the past 5 years. She loves her job and working with an incredible group of people who truly care about this community and their patients. She and her husband and have two amazing kids, Jace, 15 and Jentry, 13 who are multi-sport athletes and keep them on the go most of the time. They also have a love for fast horses, her husband is a quarter horse trainer and they do a lot of traveling in the summer to different tracks around the state. With any spare time she loves crafting, gardening or just taking time out for herself.
Nelcy was born in Mexico and moved to Twin Falls when she was 10 years old. She's been in Jerome for 17 years. She and her husband have 4 amazing boys. In their spare time they enjoy boating, fishing and spending time with friends and family. Nelcy's been working in customer service for 15 years. She feels fortunate to be working in an amazing environment with such great people at Jerome Physical Therapy & Sports Medicine Clinic. She enjoys helping patients and looks forward to meeting new ones.
