Honda Polaris of North Texas FAQ

Q: What is a UTV?
A:
The Side by Side is a 2, 3, 4 or 6-person off-road vehicle available in 1, 2 or 4-wheel drive, also called a UTV (Utility Task Vehicle).

Q: What is an ATV?
A:
An ATV or all-terrain-vehicle is an off-road, motorized vehicle having three or four low pressure tires, a straddle seat for the operator, and handlebars for steering control. ATVs are designed to carry typically one rider on rougher terrain and are often used in farming, ranch, and industrial operations and recreationally.

Q: When should a helmet be replaced?
A:
Rule of thumb is generally around a 5 year max life expectancy, but this can depend on usage, wear or helmet quality. Also, helmet technology, styling and comfort features change fairly regularly over time, so 5 years would be about max for me anyway and at that point, I'd consider buying a new helmet. If the helmet has been dropped or if it is damaged from chips, cracks, etc. on the outside, then it should be replaced immediately.

Q: How do I know which size ATV or dirt bike is appropriate for my child?
A:
Several factors play a role in determining the appropriate size of cycle for children. To learn more, visit Honda Polaris of North Texas. The staff will be happy to help you determine what type and size of cycle would be best for your child.
