Promoting Speech Development in Your Toddler

Do you remember what your child’s first spoken word was? Was it Mommy? Or Daddy? Or maybe it was something you would have never at all expected—like “ball” (which was one of my child’s first words!)

Becca Jarzynski, a Speech Therapist with Eau Claire County’s Birth-to-3 Program, tells us some basic ways that you, as a parent, can help promote speech and language development with your child. First of all, she tells us some things we can do before our child is even born and throughout their first couple years of life. She also explains how reading to our children on a regular basis helps to promote speech and language development.
