Q: What does Sylvan do?
A: We teach skills for mastery to students whether they are ahead, at grade-level or behind in order to get them performing at their optimum level of achievement. We teach direct instruction with proven, research-based learning programs. We test along the way to ensure results and communicate regularly with parents and the classroom teachers.
Q: How do you get started?
A: Contact the center via phone, email or walk-in and a Director will review your student’s needs. From there, she will recommend the appropriate next steps, a Skills Assessment or immediate help by a teacher.
Q: What ages do you work with?
A: Sylvan programs are designed for students in grades K-12. However, we also specialize in personalizing instruction for adults. We work with everyone from kindergartners learning to read to business professionals sharpening math or communucation skills.
Q: Who are your staff?
A: We have a great professional staff; all of whom are dedicated to kids, learning, and success! We have two Directors, twelve certified teachers, two tutors (non-certified teachers), and one center assistant.
Q: How much does it cost?
A: We identify individual needs through our unique Sylvan Assessment and teach the skills necessary for success. We have two one-time fees, one for the Sylvan Skills Assessment ($225) and one Registration Fee for books and materials ($95). Since every program is individualized, each student’s program is different in cost. There are several convenient tuition methods with savings up to 20% and payment options as low as $65/month.
