Kids in the Kitchen

Presented By: Mayo Clinic Health System

When we moms or dads are cooking dinner, many of us shoo our little ones out of the kitchen so we can prepare the meal quickly and without interruption. But letting your kids actually help you in the kitchen is a great way to not only spend quality time together, but also to teach them some basic cooking skills and healthy eating habits. Research has shown that children are more likely to eat a healthy meal if they helped make it.

Katie Fichter, Community Nutrition Educator at Mayo Clinic Health System, explains why we should resist the urge to shoo our kids out of the kitchen and INVOLVE them instead!
