According to the American Institute for Cancer Research, “Scientists estimate that about a third of the most common cancers could be prevented by eating a healthy diet, being physically active, and maintaining a healthy weight.”
Joslyn Brantner, a Registered Dietician at Sacred Heart Hospital, tells us more about how the foods we eat can impact our risk of developing cancer. She explains if there is any evidence that certain foods in our diet can actually help prevent cancer, and if so, what those foods are. Joslyn also tells us what foods we should avoid and also whether or not alcohol consumption can increase our risk for developing certain cancers.
