American Red Cross Blood Services fulfills the needs of the American people by providing the safest, most reliable and most cost-effective blood services through voluntary donations. Locally, the Central Plains Region sponsors an average of 15 blood drives each day to meet the needs of hospital patients across most of Kansas and Northern Oklahoma.
Red Cross empowers ordinary people to perform extraordinary acts of service. Blood donors are ordinary people including high school students, factory and office workers, parents and grandparents, people from every walk of life. But donors share one thing, a profound desire to give back to their community and help others.
Blood donors play an integral role in the delivery of modern healthcare. Many life-saving medical treatments and procedures involve blood transfusions and would not be possible without a safe and reliable blood supply.
Almost everyone will know someone who needs blood. Red Cross encourages everyone to consider making the gift of life.
