For the past 30 years, RMHC Wichita’s Ronald McDonald Houses have kept families together by providing them a “home away from home.” Through their two Houses and their Ronald McDonald Family Room, RMHC Wichita has served over 45,000 sick and injured children since their doors opened in 1983.
Many families travel far from home to get the specialized medical treatment they need for their seriously ill or injured children. The treatment may last a day, a month, or even longer. It's a long time to be away from home, or to divide a family. For children facing a serious medical crisis, nothing seems scarier than not having their mom and dad close by for love and support.
