Our food cooperative is sponsored by Catholic Charities of the Arlington Dioceses in partnership with Loving Arms Assisted Living and the local community. We provide food to the hungry.  We don’t put any restrictions on income; instead, we provide food to anyone who needs it.

Loaves and Fishes Food Pantry FAQ

Q: What do I need to be eligible?
A: You must appear in-person for the initial intake. An application is filled out to determine family eligibility. Only one account is allowed per household/address. Once all forms are completed, a volunteer shopper will accompany recipients through the pantry to assist with the shopping process. Forms of ID are not necessary - we base our whole operation on love and trust.
Q: What are your hours?
A: Hours may vary. Currently we are operating on Wednesday evenings from 5pm to 7pm and during Thursday and Friday from 10am to 2pm.
Q: What happens if I don't qualify?
A: no one shall be turned away due to making "too much money." Some of our products are USDA. The United States Department of Agriculture provides us with food at no charge; therefore, they place limits on their goods such as the amount of income a family can make and the amount of goods a family can have. If you do not qualify for USDA foods, you may still qualify for pantry food.
Q: How many times can I come to the pantry?
A: Currently, we offer shopping trips every two weeks. We have been open since March 9th and, thus far, have always been able to bless our recipients with a shopping trip every other week.
Q: How can I help?
A: Loaves and Fishes is a non-profit organization and runs solely on volunteers and donations. If you don't have a few hours to give, give a few dollars; if you don't have a few dollars to give, give a few hours.
