Shenandoah Free Clinic Receives Grant for Expansion

Shenandoah County Free Clinic is expanding.

The State of Virginia is giving the clinic a $700,000 grant.

The grant will pay for a huge chunk of the $2,000,000 dollar renovation.

The free clinic plans to build on to their nursing home.

They want to remove some walls, create more parking space and make their facilities down right more accessible.

Pam Murphy is the executive Director at the free clinic.
"We're essentially doubling the space we have at our current facility and we'll be handicap accessible our site now is two stories, without an elevator. It pre-dates the ADA regulations. The bathrooms are not handicap accessible."

Murphy say Shenandoah County continues to grow, so this renovation will really help with capacity issues.
