Its spring and that means pollen. That creates a lot of allergy problems for people especially with their eyes. Can you give us some tips to help keep the eyes comfortable?
There is a simple test you can do at home and that is to rub your eye. If it still itches, or itches more, then you know it is allergies. You can use over the counter eye drops like Refresh or Systane. Just don't use anything that says it removes the red. There are also prescription eye drops you can use.
Speaking of dry eye, its my understanding that you are recognized world wide as an industry thought leader on dry eye. How did you get that reputation, or rather, What do you do differently that has given you that distinction?
A lot of it was luck. Working in a center with surgeons, a lot of our patients have dry eye. In the past 10 years, I have done a lot of work with autologous serum. That reputation spread around the world.
IPL is a new treatment for dry eye. What is that exactly, and does it work for everyone who has dry eye problems?
Everyone has little glands in their eye lids that express oil. It is a non-laser treatment that rejuvenates those glands.
