Aspire! Conservatory of Fine & Performing Arts FAQ

What is Aspire! Conservatory of Fine & Performing Arts?
Aspire! Conservatory is a new ministry offered by First United Methodist Church in Ashland, KY. The Conservatory consists of the School of Music, the School of Art, the School of Dance, and the School of Drama.

Our School of Music will offer a full line of private music lessons in voice, piano, woodwinds, brass, percussion and strings. Small group instruction is available in guitar and in our new digital piano lab. We will also host four performing ensembles where the best students from each school district across the Tri-State can come together to learn and perform with one another on a regular basis. These performing ensembles will consist of: Middle School Wind Ensemble, High School Wind Symphony, Children's Chorus and Youth Choir.

In the area of art, Aspire! will offer classes in drawing, painting, sculpture and collage.

Our School of Dance will off two recreational dance classes per week. On Tuesday nights, we will offer a class called "Two Left Feet" which is social dance for fun, fitness and fellowship. To end the week we will host "Friday Night, Date Night" which is a class in beginning level ballroom dance.

Last but not least, in the area of drama we have the FAITHworks Theatre Troupe. This course is strictly for grades 1-6 and will focus on beginning level singing, acting, dancing and stage presence. All literature for this class will be Biblical in nature.

Who are the instructors for Aspire! Conservatory?
We have twenty-five instructors from OH, KY and WV. Each instructor has a degree in music, art, dance or theater and most have master's degrees in their fields. Many are public school teachers, college teachers, retired public school teachers, and performers. These individuals represent an impressive line-up of incredible talent and experience.
