About Us

Welcome to the Greater Huntington Park & Recreation District.

We invite you to experience the many parks, trails, facilities, events and activities we have to offer.  Our parks offer recreational opportunities, open green space and rental facilities such as indoor meeting rooms, historic lodges and cabins, shelters with grills, sports fields and more.  Our extensive trails are accessible for running, walking and bicycling.  With over 14 park sites throughout Cabell & Wayne Counties, you are sure to find a location suitable for all activities.   We strive to serve the public's recreational needs through a comprehensive park system with friendly customer service and information.  Our staff takes pride in the work they do and are committed to maintain our parks to the highest standards. Through our website you are able to explore our many parks and amenities, rent facilities, register for activities and purchase tickets for GHPRD events. What is the purpose of the Fantasy Maze?
The Fantasy Maze is a non-scary alternative to Halloween which gives family an opportunity to celebrate Halloween without any ghosts, goblins, or other spooky characters.

What can families expect inside the Fantasy Maze?
Families will be greeted by all of their favorite storybook and cartoon characters inside the Fantasy Maze where they will get a chance to interact with the character while getting lots of candy!

Where did the characters come from?
The Huntington Area Regional Theater Choose Joy Players are back to help us with the Fantasy Maze! You may remember these folks from Mary Poppins, Wizard of Oz, Willy Wonka and the rest of our Summer Theater programs at the Ritter Park Amphitheater.

What other activities are available at the Fantasy Maze?
Once guests finish the Fantasy Maze, they will have a chance to enjoy inflatabeles, concessions, photo opportunities. Face painting will be available on select nights.

What are the dates, times, and cost?
The Fantasy Maze will be open from 5:00 p.m. to 9:00 p.m. October 21, 22, 23 (Friday, Saturday, Sunday) and October 28, 29, 30, 31 (Friday, Saturday, Sunday, Monday). Cost is $5 per person and every person that enters the Fantasy Maze will need to purchase a ticket with the exception of infants under the age of 1. Tickets will be sold at the event from 4:30 p.m. to 8:30 p.m. each evening.
