This summer, make sure your child isn't spending too much time on the couch. By staying active, they'll reduce their risk of health problems in the future and have a chance to blow off some steam.
Make working out a scheduled family event, like taking a bike ride after dinner.
Sign your child up for a baseball or volleyball league, swimming lessons or a sports camp.
Take interest in a new hobby together as a family, like bowling, tennis or inline skating.
Organize fun neighborhood games like dodgeball, soccer or relay races.
Take frequent trips to the local swimming pond or pool for a great workout.
Turn off the TV, turn on some music and have a family dance party.
Make sure you join in on the fun. It's up to you to be a healthy example for your children.
