Airplane Etiquette

This article, entitled "Airplane Etiquette," comes from Kelli Parker, MomsEveryday correspondent from East Tennessee.

When you put a bunch of strangers on an airplane together, you hope that everyone will have the proper etiquette... Unfortunately that’s not always the case. Here are some tips to make sure you’re a good passenger.

Make sure your carry on isn’t too big and will easily fit in the overhead compartment.

Allow people who need special assistance to go ahead – be patient and considerate.

When traveling with children it is your job to make sure they are entertained – bring lots of books, snacks and toys.

If the person next to you doesn’t want to chat, don’t take it personally. On the other hand, if you don’t want to chat, just pull out a book or take a nap.

Everyone will get off the plane eventually; don’t push ahead of your turn. If you think you’re going to miss a connecting flight, talk to the flight attendant.

Good manners don’t have to fly out of the cabin door.
