This article, entitled "2 ingredient cakes," comes from partner site 719woman.com.
I saw this article in the Huffington Post about making cakes with only two ingredients, so I immediately went to the grocery store and bought what I needed to try a couple of them out. Two ingredients? Yes, I thought, I could handle that.
The first cake I made was with a Devil’s Food flavored box cake and a 12-ounce Diet Coke. Nothing else.
At first, it didn’t look like anything I’d want to eat!
Simply mix and wow, it looks like cake batter.
This was delicious without any icing and it tasted exactly like chocolate cake. I paid a dollar for the box mix and 30 cents for the Diet Coke so this only cost $1.30 to make…and it was really good!
With icing, it was even better!
The second cake I made used lemon-flavored box cake and a 12-ounce can of Sprite.
I used two smaller tins to make 2 cakes from 1 mix. This is a great way, especially during the holidays, to share baked goodies with friends and neighbors that won’t cost too much but still gives everyone something delicious to try.
My very favorite way to eat this fabulous lemon cake was hands-down, without anything topping it. It wasn’t overly sweet, had a hint of tartness and was super-moist. Each loaf cost 65 cents.
