This article, entitled "School is Cool," comes from Annie Woods, MomsEveryday blogger from Reno, NV.
One day you’re rocking your child to sleep, then the next day they are starting school. It feels like the blink of an eye since my daughter was just a tiny baby, totally reliant on me. Now she’s walking a few feet ahead of me like a big girl, with a backpack that takes up half her body, heading to pre-kindergarten. This program is so great in helping prepare kids for kindergarten and what is expected of them in school. She’s started doing homework, picking out goodies for show and tell, wearing a uniform, and playing on a big kid playground. I love to watch her grow and start all of these fun adventures in life. She loves going to school and making new friends. Once a week they meet up with a buddy from kindergarten who will read to them (which is the coolest, of course). Everyday we talk about all of the fun things that go on at school, who she plays with, what songs they sing. It gives us a whole new level of conversation, she gets to talk about an experience that is completely her own. Even though it feels like she’s growing up too fast, I am so happy that she is having such a wonderful time at school.
