Where is that Elf?

“Daddy, I’m worried. I don’t think the elf is coming.”

My little 7-year-old is stressed. “Elf on the Shelf” has already arrived at Olivia’s friend Grace’s house. And he’s been popping up at cousin Maya’s home, too.

Where is he?

“Maybe we’ve been bad,” Olivia told her dad as she splashed in the tub.

“We’ve been wrestling a lot.” She’s referring to the brother/sister playful struggles on the living room floor.

“I think he’ll come. It’s not even December yet,“ Jon told her.

Yes, where is that elf? (This has me worried a bit, too.) He disappeared when Santa arrived last Christmas. And he has yet to arrive at the Vanderford home.

Maybe Mr. Elf is “lost” in our house…in the closet, under the bathroom sink, stuffed in a box of hidden Christmas decorations.

Does he realize that he must show himself each day in a different spot? His job is to watch for naughty or nice kids and report to Santa.

Let’s just hope “Elf on the Shelf” arrives this weekend, or I might be contacting Christmas Town (aka Target).

Check back for an update next week!

If you and your family love the Elf on the Shelf tradition, but have ever woken up in a panic in the middle of the night (or worse yet, the next morning) because you realized you forgot to move your elf to a new location...

The thought of having to explain to your kids why the elf didn't move can cause sheer terror!

ElfReminders.com is a service that will send a reminder each day (at a time determined by the user) to move your elf.

Avoid the scramble to make up a crazy story to explain it to your kids!
