Ebola. JUST KIDDING!
I want to tell you something that will inspire you so much, you will either change a few things in your life, do nothing different, OR maybe you will do that stupid negative self talk like a wussy and be jealous and all, "I'm a loser," and talk yourself out of doing anything, which is totally NOT inspiring. Loser. Whatever you do is fine by me. I just felt the need to share this inspiring story about The 52/52 Project.
In a nutshell...be inspired by my friend. I know I am. So much so that I am preparing to, well, more on that later. For now...as I was saying, be inspired! Here's the story....of a gal named Sherry!
My name is Sherry Stanfa-Stanley, and I am changing my life.
As I whimpered past the age of 50, I realized I'd spent the last 30 years doing the same ordinary things. Every. Single. Day. I know many people, especially my female friends, who are in a similar rut: those who spend more than their share of evenings folding clothes in front of the TV, daydreaming about the world out there while they contemplate having that second bowl of ice cream.
So, in the last three months, I sold my house, bought a condo, and lost nearly 30 pounds (with more than a few to go). And then I started pondering how I might shake up my life in a number of smaller ways.
Thus was born, "52 at 52: A Year of New Experiences."
Join me in jumping the curb, taking a detour from the cul-de-sac to visit personally unexplored territories.
Buckle up: It could be a bumpy ride.
ARE YOU NOT INSPIRED? I KNOW!
And so The 52/52 Project was born. 52 new experiences for 52-year-old Sherry. It inspired me.
It's not uncommon for life to get in the way of living. It's not uncommon, but it's also NOT okay, at least not if it lasts for your entire life and you die having not really lived!! IS THAT WHAT YOU WANT? I didn't think so.
It's not okay for NOT living to be a way of life. Not for you, not for me, not for anyone.
When Sherry started this, it got me thinking and doing. I was inspired. I made some hard choices. I'm still making them. My life is changing a lot right now. I'm a little scared, but mostly excited. I will not be going up in a hot air balloon, because NO. I will also not be doing reality television because KATE GOESSLIN and no. I am making my list of 45 at 45 and I thank my friend Sherry for inspiring me to do this.
