After three ear infections, one sinus infection and four antibiotics –all within just a couple of months--our little girl is going to have surgery.
Tubes in ears and adenoids out to be exact.
Nervous at first, she is now excited to have this done so she can feast on ice cream , popsicles and jello as promised by the doctor. She may not be nervous, but Mama certainly is!
We have been blessed the last 9 years of raising babies not to have encountered any major medical issues. I've never had a child "put under" or whisked away from me to an operating room where I am not allowed.
But thousands of kids have this done every year, right? There aren't any major complications that can happen, right?
I'm wondering how much of the paperwork and brochures they sent home I should actually read! And I am certainly not searching for this on the internet. We are saying lots of prayers right now and I am confidant this 10 minute, easy, out-patient surgery will go flawless.
However, her Daddy better buy enough Cold Stone for both the patient and the patient’s mommy. I’m going to need it!
