Residents of Central Wisconsin look to The Hearing House for technologically advanced hearing healthcare with a warm, personal touch. Schedule your free hearing evaluation with us. If you have no hearing loss, we will tell you. If the cause of your hearing problem appears to be one that requires medical attention, we will let you know. If hearing aids are indicated, we will provide you with the best service and follow-up care anywhere.

The Hearing House carries a selection of digital hearing aids to suit different types and severities of hearing loss as well as other requirements of each individual. Once we identify your needs, we select the appropriate instrument from Siemens Hearing Instruments or several other fine brands of hearing aids we carry. You can purchase with confidence knowing that free service for the life of your hearing aid is included in the purchase price.

The Hearing House, LLC is an ultra-modern hearing healthcare facility.  Our mission is to provide the best information, hearing evaluations and support to our clients.  We offer free hearing assessments, free video ear canal inspections, free live hearing aid demo's, free real ear measured adjustments and free cleaning on almost all hearing aids.

In addition to the expertise of our professional staff, we have an established medical referral program, to ensure that you receive the highest quality hearing care.  We value each and every one of our clients and pride ourselves on our personalized customer service.

Meet Our Staff

Todd Beyer
Board Certified Hearing Instrument Specialist, ACA

Todd M. Beyer is a 2nd generation hearing instrument specialist.  He has been licensed to dispense hearing aids since 1999.  He was with a large retail hearing aid chain for 11 years, during which he became a supervisor and trainer for the franchise that covers all of central and northern WI.

In 2004, he passed a competency exam which gives him the title of Board Certified.  He also took an additional training course during '05 and '06 in Audioprosthology.  He is a member of the WI Alliance of Hearing Professionals and serves on the Board of Directors for the organization.  He is a member of the International Hearing Society and since 2005, he has volunteered for the WI Dept. of Safety and Professional Services as an examiner for the candidates trying to get their dispensing license.

After opening his own private practice in June of 2010, in downtown Marshfield, he is a member of the Chamber of Commerce and continues to attend educational seminars to stay on top of the latest developments that are being made in the hearing aid profession.  He is accepting new clients and clients who already have hearing instruments.

Dennis Beyer is Todd’s father and has been licensed to dispense hearing aids since 1988.  He worked at the same large retail hearing aid chain for 24 years and has decided to join The Hearing House to run their Wausau location.  Dennis is a member of the WI Alliance of Hearing Professionals as well as the International Hearing Society.  He also continues to attend educational seminars to stay on top of the latest developments that are being made in the hearing aid profession.

Karen Mihalko has been licensed to dispense hearing aids since 2006.  She worked with Todd at the same large retail chain.  Karen is a member of the WI Alliance of Hearing Professionals as well as the International Hearing Society.  She, too, is a member of the Chamber of Commerce and also continues to attend educational seminars.  She left the large retail chain to join Todd in his private practice.  She is the front office manager and is able to confidently answer any questions you may have about hearing loss or hearing aids.  She will always have a smile and a hot cup of coffee to greet you!

How much are hearing aids?
They range from several hundred to a few thousand dollars for one.

How much is a hearing test?
Complete hearing evaluations are complimentary.

How long do hearing aids last?
The national average is 4-6 years, however, they can last much longer with proper maintenance and care.

Can I schedule an evening or weekend appointment?
Yes! Our hours are flexible and we will work around your schedule.

Services

Audiometric Evaluations
The hearing test (audiometric evaluation) consists of testing with both speech and pure tones. Testing with pure tones is done to determine the amount of hearing loss at each specific frequency. Speech discrimination scores are obtained to estimate the loss of the ability to understand speech.

Hearing Aid: Sales and Service
Hearing Aids – We offer a wide selection of digital hearing aids, from a variety of manufacturers. Each manufacturer offers different levels of technology to manage background noise, control feedback, and allow fine frequency tuning.  We will work with you to find the best solution for your hearing healthcare needs within your budget.
Repair All Makes – We can get your hearing aid repaired quickly at a reasonable cost and give you a loaner hearing aid to use until yours comes back.

Earmolds
Custom earmolds can be made for prevention of noise/music induced hearing loss, swim plugs, musician’s earmolds and in-the-ear monitors as well as hearing aids.

Assistive Listening Devices (ALDs)
We offer information and guidance on use of assistive listening devices, such as amplified telephones, FM transmitter systems, and infrared systems. These systems serve as additional help in situations when hearing aids do not provide the necessary assistance. We will either order the device in which you are interested, or give you the information to order on your own.
