Rustic Lodging For Your Next Getaway
A stay at Mountain Lake Lodge is an unforgettable retreat. The cool, crisp mountain air carries the scent of Eastern Hemlock. The sound of gentle breezes stirring the trees is broken only by the chirping of birds. All of this surrounds you from the comfort of your own rustic cabin, cottage or guest room. Mountain Lake offers a wide range of lodging choices, from historic cabins overlooking the 2,600 acre property to comfortable cottages with stone fireplaces tucked away in the woods.

Due to the elevation of Mountain Lake Lodge, the temperatures are consistently 10-15 degrees cooler than the temperatures at the bottom of the mountain (Blacksburg/Roanoke).  The resort almost always enjoys a cool breeze during the day and cool, yet crisp evenings.  We recommend our guests bring jackets.  The resort has maintained its historical integrity and does not have air conditioning in any of the main buildings or accommodations. Mountain Lake Lodge is a natural setting and many of our guests are very comfortable with simply opening their guest room windows in the evenings if they enjoy a cooler temperature for sleeping.  Please view our rooms!
If for health reasons you require air conditioning, please note that none of the sleeping accommodations have air conditioning.

Mountain Lake Conservancy protects our 2,600-acre woodland playground in Pembroke, VA. The MLC works closely with Mountain Lake Lodge to manage the hotel and property in a sustainable manner, which includes protecting the resources that draw visitors to this mountaintop. Through educational programs, managing and interpreting research, and providing recreational opportunities, the MLC is integrally tied to Mountain Lake Lodge and its mission to provide a place for people to connect with nature for future generations.
