Everything you say and do is being watched and learned by your children. MomsEveryday spoke with Roger Gallimore, a father and grandfather who explained how fathers can be great role models.
Roger is the CEO of the YMCA in Rapid City, South Dakota.
“Whether you like it or not, you’re teaching all the time. In fact, when children come into the world, they’re automatically enrolled in an 18-year course on how to live life, and fathers, you’re instrumental in this in teaching. So, on the one hand, everything you say do and think is being watched and learned and observed. On the other hand, that doesn’t mean you have to be perfect. In fact, it’s okay to be imperfect, which we are anyway, because it also gives us opportunities to own up to your mistakes,” Roger said.
