About Us

Diaper Bank of the Ozarks is established to keep our babies healthy and happy by providing access to diapers for families in need and through education concerning alternative diapering options that promote health and financial responsibility.

Diapers can make a huge difference. Learn more below:

  • About 48% of families report a delay in changing diapers.
  • About 32% of families report reusing diapers (from "In Short Supply," a study commissioned by Feeding America, 2013).
  • Many childcare centers require a supply of diapers daily, and without daycare, a parent cannot work.
  • Babies who spend a day or longer in one diaper risk potential health problems, such as skin rashes and infections.
  • Diaper need is more distressing to moms than not having enough food for the family (from Huggies Every Little Bottom Study).
  • Mothers report feelings of guilt and depression because of a lack of diapers.
  • Babies who do not have enough diaper changes become irritable and cry more.
  • A cranky baby in a stressed family situation may lead to an increased risk for situations of child abuse and neglect.

The Diaper Bank of the Ozarks has touched the lives of over 25,000 babies over the past 4 years by distributing over 1,000,000 disposable diapers and over 200 cloth diaper starter kits. Between 40 and 50,,000 diapers are donated to 35 local partner agencies in Greene County and other rural partners reaching into 22 of our outlying counties who then distribute to families in need. The requests for help with diapers come in daily. Single moms or dads, grandparents raising grandchildren while on a fixed income, the unemployed, underemployed, teen moms, and so many more are affected.

Many calls come from locations where there are no diaper pantries offering help. For this reason the Diaper Bank of the Ozarks is available to offer education and assistance to groups, agencies, and individuals interested in opening a diaper bank or pantry in their community. Please contact us for more information.

Start using cloth diapers instead of disposable diapers to save over $2,000 (over $1,000 a year), while your baby is wearing diapers.

Please see the "Partners" Page for a list of Cloth Diaper Loan programs in your community.

Contact the Diaper Bank of the Ozarks or visit our Facebook Page for more information. Classes are offered monthly at Pregnancy Care Center in Springfield and Republic Pregnancy Resource Center or an individual class can be scheduled.  More classes will be offered soon.  A monthly Circle Group is available also where you can meet cloth diaper experts and other moms using cloth.  Find out if this option could work for your family.  Eliminate purchasing diapers every month. Those extra dollars will help with groceries, rent, and medical expenses

We can help you with the following:

Answer your questions.
Show you how easy cloth diapers are to use.
Help you find a way to launder your diapers even if you do not have access to a washing machine.
Assist you to find a loan program that is right for you to get you started.
