Meet Our Orthodontists

Tyler H. Jolley, D.M.D
Tyler H. Jolley, D.M.D., is a certified orthodontist and periodontist who resides in Grand Junction with his family. Dr. Jolley graduated from Nova Southeastern University School of Dental Medicine in Ft. Lauderdale, Florida in 2002. He then completed a four year orthodontic/periodontic residency at the University of Pennsylvania in June 2006. He opened Jolley Smiles soon after graduation.

Dr. Jolley enjoys lecturing internationally on temporary orthodontic implants. His research articles have also been published in the Journal of Clinical Orthodontics. He serves on the Quest Cleft Palate Team of Grand Junction. He is also on the Board of Directors for Rimrock Seminars, a division of the Seattle Study Club. He is a member of the American Association of Orthodontists, American Academy of Periodontology, Colorado Dental Association, and the American Dental Association.

Dr. Jolley enjoys mountain biking, wake surfing, snowboarding, backpacking, bee keeping, farming (he owns a tractor now so he thinks he is a farmer), bird hunting, fly fishing, and writing young adult science fiction novels. His first two novels and one comic book have been published, with a few more on the way. He also loves spending time with his friends and family. He feels fortunate to be practicing in Colorado, and enjoys the opportunity to serve the Western Slope.

Zachary P. Pitcher, D.M.D., M.D.S.
Zachary P. Pitcher, D.M.D., M.D.S. is a certified orthodontist who resides in Fruita with his family. Dr. Pitcher attended the University of Pittsburgh for dental school, graduating in 2005. He then completed a three year orthodontic residency at the University of Tennessee in Memphis. Dr. Pitcher is a member of the American Association of Orthodontists and the American Dental Association.

Dr. Pitcher enjoys spending time outdoors with his family. He and his wife, Melanie, have three beautiful daughters. While in Memphis, Dr. Pitcher learned, among other things, the finer art of barbecuing. He also enjoys mountain biking, skiing and many other outdoor activities.

Please come meet Dr. Pitcher and help us welcome him into our great community. Dr. Jolley and Dr. Pitcher look forward to working together to change the Western Slope one smile at a time!

Elliott Jolley, DMD
Dr. Elliott Jolley was born and raised in Vernal, Utah, where he currently resides and maintains an orthodontic practice. He continues a family tradition of providing quality dental care. After his undergraduate education at Brigham Young University, he received his dental training from Nova Southeastern University in Ft. Lauderdale, Florida. He then received his specialty training in Orthodontics from The University of Pennsylvania in Philadelphia in 2012. When Dr. Jolley can sneak away from his office in Vernal he comes to help out at the Delta and Montrose locations for Jolley Smiles.

The reason Dr. Jolley loves being an orthodontist is seeing the transformation his patients experience as they receive orthodontic treatment. A beautiful smile can seem like a small thing, but it can make a tremendous difference in a patient’s life. Having the honor of guiding a patient through that journey is what Dr. Jolley enjoys most.

Dr. Jolley resides in Vernal, Utah with his wife Michelle and their four children. He enjoys snowboarding, playing the piano, and being outdoors.

Jolley Smiles FAQ

Is it required that my family dentist schedule my appointment with the orthodontist?
No, it is not. Many of our patients are referred by their family dentist, yet many other patients take the initiative to schedule an examination themselves.

At what age should I schedule an appointment for an orthodontic screening?
The American Association of Orthodontists recommends an orthodontic screening at age 7. By this age, several permanent teeth in most children have erupted, allowing us to effectively evaluate your orthodontic condition.

Will my teeth straighten out as they grow?
No, they will not. The space available for the front teeth does not increase as you grow. In most people, after the permanent molars erupt, the space available for the front teeth decreases with age.

How do I schedule an appointment for an initial exam?
If you or your child can potentially benefit from orthodontic treatment, simply call our office, send us an e-mail or fill out our appointment request form online. We will be happy to schedule an appointment for you. When you call to schedule your appointment, our front office staff will request some basic information from you.

What will I learn from the initial examination?
There are five essential questions that we will cover during the initial examination:
  • Is there an orthodontic problem, and if so, what is it?
  • What must be done to correct the problem?
  • Will any teeth need to be removed?
  • How long will the treatment take to complete?
  • How much will the treatment cost?
