About Us

Smiles 4 Kids serves the Western Slope of Colorado with pediatric dentistry offices in Grand Junction and Montrose. We focus on providing children’s dentistry services in a fun environment. We believe that establishing healthy habits early in life is the best way to maintain healthy smiles throughout our lifetimes, and the first step is making regular visits to see the dentist.

Smiles 4 Kids serves infants, children and adolescents. Our office is equipped with the latest technology including x-rays and computer imaging that make your child’s visit more comfortable.

We make visits to the dentist fun and non-intimidating for kids, and go above and beyond to ensure your child is at ease in our office. We all know the dentist can be scary, but our friendly staff and sedation dentistry options put most kids at ease while they are in our care. Parents are welcome to accompany their children throughout their appointment.

We accept Medicare, CHP and most major insurances. Our friendly and professional staff is here to answer any questions you may have about our company or our services. We know that it can be difficult to find a reliable dentist for your child; let us make that decision easy for you.

What We Do

We are Colorado-certified general dentists who see kids ages 0 to 21. Good habits are best established at a young age, so we focus on making a trip to the dentist fun. We provide a fun and relaxing atmosphere and provide positive encouragement and motivation to maintain a healthy, beautiful smile.

Our Services

Routine Cleanings and Checkups - Kids should visit the dentist every six months from about the age of one or whenever their first teeth start to erupt. Regular cleanings and checkups are an important part of their preventative dental care. At your checkup, we will remove plaque from teeth, check for cavities, and discuss good dental hygiene for your child. We will take x-rays and conduct a thorough dental exam during your child’s appointment. We will also be available to answer any questions you or your child has about their dental care and overall dental health.

Tooth-Colored Fillings - Our office offers tooth-colored fillings that are less noticeable than traditional amalgam fillings. If your child has cavities, tooth-colored fillings can ease their pain without affecting their confidence in their smiles.Composite resins are durable and can withstand normal pressure from chewing. They can be used on both front and back teeth, and are more cosmetically appealing than traditional fillings. Composites look more natural and are a popular option available today.

Dental Sealants - Dental sealants are an important preventative dental procedure that protects the back teeth from decay. Dental sealants act as a physical barrier to prevent cavities on premolars and molars where decay is most common.Sealants are easily applied by the dentist, and the procedure is painless. The dentist will paint a plastic resin onto the tooth enamel, allowing it to bond directly to the tooth. Sealants are durable and will hold up well against the normal force of chewing. Sealants can be reapplied when needed.

Sedation Dentistry - We offer various levels of anesthesia or sedation during dental procedures including local anesthesia, nitrous oxide and general outpatient anesthesia. The level of anesthesia to be administered is determined on an individual basis. If your child requires nitrous oxide or general anesthesia during their appointment, we will discuss the options available with you before administering any sedation.Sedation dentistry helps those with significant anxiety about the dentist, and those who may become anxious during an extended dental procedure. We want to ensure your child is comfortable in our office, and will always discuss your options with you.

Space Maintainers - If your child loses a baby tooth before the permanent tooth is ready to erupt, a space maintainer may be necessary to prevent surrounding teeth from filling the space and preventing the permanent tooth from erupting in the right location. Space maintainers essentially reserve the space for permanent teeth to come in without crowding. There are several types of space maintainers available, and which kind we use will depend on your child’s specific situation. Space maintainers may be necessary after a baby tooth is knocked out or extracted prematurely.
